抄録(ABSTRACT)
Although OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) lighting can provide an environment of diffused, soft light, it is not widely used for museum lighting. Consequently, effective methods of using OLEDs for museum lighting have not been sufficiently developed. Our aim is to develop museum lighting using OLEDs and raise awareness of this technology. To this end, we are promoting a plan to install OLED lighting in the ceilings and display cases of the Tokyo National Museum's exhibition rooms.
We conducted mock-up experiments using OLED lighting in wall-mounted display cases and found that the luminance distribution was the result of the same level of performance as that achieved using the latest LED wall washers.
We also confirmed that they provide sufficient uniformity of illuminance for museum lighting.
